The Energy Corporation was formed in early 2006 to provide consulting expertise to the power and construction industry. The founders of the company collectively have over 100 years of power generation experience, and have been instrumental in bringing over 30,000 megawatts of fossil-fueled, nuclear, wood-fired and geothermal power on to the North American grid.
In addition, the founding members of TEC held key engineering, procurement, construction and testing positions in Calpine’s combined cycle new-build program. This experience honed our combustion turbine based skills. We have a strong knowledge base in the procurement and installation of combustion turbines, steam turbines, heat recovery steam generators, heat rejection systems, distributed control systems, and balance of plant equipment. Our responsibilities at Calpine included the creation of plant design criteria, general arrangements, P&IDs, and control logic as well as troubleshooting start-up and operational problems.
Our skills and experience make us well versed to assist owners as Owner’s Engineer in the procurement of major plant equipment, reviewing engineering and design work products, and managing the engineering, construction and commissioning of new power generation facilities.
The employees of TEC have an Owner’s mentality. We know what it takes to meet the Owner’s responsibilities in large construction projects. We know the impacts to schedule, quality, and cost when responsibilities aren’t met. We know the importance of timely project execution, the importance of resolving issues quickly, and most importantly- the interrelationship of schedule, quality, and cost. Decisions almost always impact all three aspects, and as a member of your team, we can help you make the right choice.
